The Diagnosis

Your SEO is not working for you. Here is how to tell.

In French-speaking Switzerland, every strategic query you do not appear on is a client going to your competitor. On a keyword with 500 monthly searches and a 3% conversion rate, that is 15 potential clients lost every month. Multiply by your average basket and the cost of doing nothing becomes very concrete. These three symptoms are the signals we see most often before a company contacts us.

search_off

Invisible on your strategic queries

Your site exists, but your potential clients cannot find it. You rank on your brand name but are absent from commercial-intent queries. The ones buyers type before making a decision. Your competitors capture that qualified traffic in your place, every day.

trending_down

Traffic, but no conversions

Google Analytics shows visitors, but your phone does not ring. Wrong keywords, wrong landing pages, no conversion journey. Your pages inform, but they do not convince. Every visitor who leaves without acting is a client lost.

analytics

No visibility on what works

Your current agency sends you incomprehensible reports. Or nothing at all. No position tracking, no measurement of conversions attributed to SEO, no account of the budget invested. Search stays a black box, and you pay without knowing why.

The French-speaking Swiss market

Your competitors are already investing. Every month without SEO widens the gap.

On a query like “accountant Geneva”, the top 3 results take almost all the clicks. The 4th gets crumbs. The 10th, almost nothing. And where are you? Banks in Geneva, clinics in Lausanne, firms in Fribourg, hotels in Valais: in every sector, the places are taken by those who invested in SEO 12 months ago.

The market in French-speaking Switzerland has one more characteristic: a significant share of searches happen in English or German depending on the sector and the canton. If you target only one language, you leave part of the market to your competitors.

Our Approach

What separates us from a conventional SEO agency.

Most SEO agencies do content. Or technical. Or links. Rarely all three at once. And when the code of your site needs touching, they send you to an external developer. It is like a doctor who makes the diagnosis but cannot write the prescription. You end up with two people to deal with, two invoices and nobody accountable.

At Smart Impact, everything is under one roof. SEO, content, development, and now generative engine optimisation (GEO). Three pillars that justify a genuine premium partnership rather than an off-the-shelf service. That is what separates us from a conventional SEO agency.

integration_instructions

SEO and development, same roof

An SEO recommendation that needs code? We deploy it within the week. No ticket to your development agency, no waiting, no excuses. Our SEO and development teams work in Carouge, on the same floor. That is the difference between an audit filed in a drawer and a site that genuinely ranks.

smart_toy

Visible on Google. And in AI.

In 2026, your clients no longer search on Google alone. They ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI. Generative answers are redistributing traffic. Our GEO approach (Generative Engine Optimisation) makes you citable by AI engines, on top of conventional SEO. While others are still finding out about it, you are already there.

route

A method, not improvisation

Every retainer follows the same steps: audit, prioritisation by business impact, weekly execution, measurement. No shortcuts, no black hat, no “let's see how it goes”. A method proven on dozens of sites in French-speaking Switzerland, with monthly reporting that accounts for every hour billed.

Who this is for

SEO at the service of every ambition.

We work with established SMEs in French-speaking Switzerland that see SEO as a genuine growth lever. To be able to invest ourselves fully in every project, we work with a limited number of clients at a time. That is what lets us guarantee attentive support and lasting outcomes.

Established SMEs (20-200 employees)

Companies in French-speaking Switzerland with a proven model, a structured marketing budget and the ambition to lead their local or national market. You want an acquisition channel that works 24/7, is measurable and is not tied to your advertising spend.

Scale-ups and growing SMEs

Institutions and major accounts

Organisations with a complex site (multilingual, multi-brand, large catalogue) that call for deep technical expertise and close coordination between SEO, content and development. We handle the projects where other agencies stall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about SEO in Switzerland.

Any other questions?
Contact us directly.

01

How long before there is an SEO effect?

The first movements in position generally appear within 4 to 8 weeks of the first technical fixes and on-page work. Significant change on your strategic queries (those that generate enquiries and sales) shows between 3 and 6 months depending on how competitive your sector is. SEO is a medium-term investment, but its effects accumulate and persist well beyond the end of the spend, unlike SEA where traffic stops the moment the budget does.

02

What budget should you plan for SEO in French-speaking Switzerland?

Our SEO retainers start from CHF 2’500.-/month. That positioning reflects our approach: SEO, content and development under one roof, with no outsourcing. Typical retainers for established SMEs sit between CHF 3’500.- and 8’000.-/month depending on ambition and how competitive the market is. Highly competitive sectors (finance, healthcare, property) or international expansion: budget from CHF 6’000.-/month. We produce a tailored proposal after an initial scoping conversation, with an estimated ROI based on the traffic potential identified.

03

Do you work with companies in every sector?

Yes. Our team has optimised sites for financial firms in Geneva, medical clinics in Lausanne, luxury hotels, e-commerce stores and industrial SMEs across French-speaking Switzerland. Every sector has its own specifics in terms of keywords, search intent and digital competition. We analyse the competitive landscape of your market before defining a strategy suited to your particular objectives.

Any other questions about SEO?

Every request is reviewed beforehand.

04

What happens if the outcomes do not materialise?

We analyse the causes together (a Google algorithm update, competition intensifying, undetected technical problems) and adjust the strategy accordingly. SEO depends on many external factors we do not fully control. We never promise guaranteed outcomes (nobody can do that honestly), but we do commit to transparency, responsiveness and continuous adjustment of the strategy.

05

Do we also need to rebuild our site to improve SEO?

Not necessarily. If your site is technically sound (fast loading, clear architecture, mobile compatible), we optimise what exists without a rebuild. If deep structural problems are holding search performance back (an unsuitable CMS, problematic dynamic URLs, confused information architecture), we flag it during the audit and can propose targeted fixes or, if needed, an SEO-first rebuild with our development team.

06

Do you handle SEO in English as well?

Yes. French-speaking Switzerland, and Geneva in particular, is cosmopolitan: a significant share of searches happen in English, especially in finance, hospitality, healthcare and the international organisations. We optimise your content in both languages with a keyword strategy specific to each. Search intents often differ depending on the language used. We also handle the hreflang tags to avoid duplicate content problems.
